dunno what kind of welcome is planned for dick, but since he is understudy to the commander in chief, i hope someone will ask him this: what he is doing to protect members of the u.s. military from other members of the u.s. military? i'm thinking of Suzanne Swift, the soldier who refuses to redeploy to iraq because she has been systematically sexually abused by a string of commanders. this is an ongoing problem for her, as at least one of the abusers still has access to her here while she is confined to base here in the u.s. by all counts, a vast percentage of women in u.s. military are victims of such abuse, but for reasons of fear, shame and the soldiers code of fortitude, don't/can't speak up. so Suzanne is extra-special in that she did speak up, and we need to be there to support her and others who may come forward later. i'd be there to wave a sign at dick and give him a warm sneer if i could, but alas i'm wont be in state. if someone would consider doing so in my place, info on Suzanne's situation can be found at SUZANNESWIFT.ORG

I've heard 2 different things about where this is being held. This says Comm Ave, but I've also heard that it's at Hynes Convention Center. Anyone know what's going on?

Some folks are meeting at hynes at 4pm. However, the event itself is at 374 comm ave. I am guessing comm ave will be completely blocked off....

Grace Ross , the Green-Rainbow Party candidate for governor, began giving a speech excoriating Cheney when police confiscated her microphone and speakers, citing noise ordinances. - Boston Globe

This was rediculous. The chanting and megaphones were louder than her puny sound system. Our rights are being stripped away.
