battle cry is coming!

Battle Cry is one of the largest right-wing evangelical networking and activism groups for teens. They convince young people that they must "save" their generation by creating a "battle plan" to counteract popular culture and the sinful behavior of their peers.

Rich white republican men strategize behind closed doors about how best to rope these teens into the cult like world of fundamentalist, right-wing Christianity for life. They are succeeding. Battle Cry reaches millions of teens worldwide, and their concerts/propaganda events draw thousands.

During their events Christian "rock" bands play, right-wing ministers and politicians speak, and the United States Army advertises on big screens.

I have been to their web page, I made a profile so I could check it all out. It is very creative and cutting edge in an online community sense. I talked to one youth who was in the process of making the battle cry and they didn't know really anything about the organization. It sure isn't youth empowerment. It was created by a group of adults to put a hip edge to the right-wing cult. It is a scary place....

There is also a cool pod on Current TV, that expands on this fundamentalist community.

I have been doing some more research... and this is the best place for outsiders to get info on the founder and battle cry.

What's interesting is the comprehensive reference to "cutting" on the BattleCry webpage under the heading "Reaching Out." How often do you hear about "cutting" in public health circles? (not too often). Teen Mania seems to be doing their homework, not only with slick advertising themselves, but real public health issues that usually fall under the mainstream radar.

And for the high percentage of young GLBT people who cut? How do they find their way into Battlecry's embrace?

Or for that matter young Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu teenagers?

christ! the boys and girls in their little flash presentation are H-O-T!

how do they find time to save the world for christ when they spend so much time on their hair??

They hire secular marketing firms to do their work. They hire big time concert producers that work on Madonna's and other celebrity concerts too! It's a huge scam, cult, republican nightmare. It's scary too, because the left is not even half this organized.

if only they spent half as much helping the poor.

Umm who wants to go and hold signs about shame!

I wonder if creating a really catchy awsome little flyer/booklet thingy showing another way of thinking that would appeal to these youth would be affective...

Can I pose a question. Please don't misinterpret this, but why are you attacking this group for voicing it's opinion, something that you are doing freely yourself? As a Christian young person I am passionate about my faith and my relationship with God. I may not always agree with all of the tactics used by leadership of different groups, but I don't see the need for protests. It seems to me that the LGBT community, a group of people who have voiced their opinions for years, would be so quick to judge and condemn other groups doing the same. I understand that you have probably faced lost of hate, judgement and condemnation from Christians, and have lumped all of us together in the same category. I would however like to point out that God does NOT hate homosexuals. God hates homosexual acts, yes, but He also hates lying, stealing, adultery, etc. etc. God does not hate people. God hates our actions. I happen to have several friends who are homosexual and I love them dearly. Do I support their lifestyle choice? No, but I love them. I'm not trying to stir up trouble here, I was just wondering if perhaps someone might be able to answer my question. Have a wonderful day. :-)

1. we are not attacking this group, we are exposing their lies about LGBT people
2. we are not just exposing their lies and opinions, we are fighting back against their actions: sending gay teens to dangerous conversion camps, recruiting teens to die in the military, the list goes on and on.
3. this group is the oppressor and we are the opressed who are fighting back - plain and simple.
