Georgia Queers Speak Out: Gay Marriage Wrong Priority

LGBT people living in Georgia know that they will not win marriage equality anytime soon. Yet their "gay leaders" are obsessed with winning marriage. LGBT Georgians say that focus is a reaction to the opponents of marriage equality, but they should be focusing on what they can do to make their lives better. Hate crimes are on the rise, and families need protections.

"Let's be honest," said Kevin Clark, who runs a bed and breakfast in Savannah which caters to gay tourists. "Gay marriage is not going to happen in Georgia anytime soon. We need to look at what we can get done. But instead ALL we hear about is gay marriage. It stops anything else from happening."
